Portfolio Development

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT – More info coming soon!

If you are a student who wants to develop your art skills and experience the luxury of extended blocks of time to explore ideas and the freedom to experiment with different artistic mediums, then this is the right choice for you. Students can choose to work on drawing projects, painting, sculpting, mixed media, etc. by using any of the high quality supplies that are provided as part of your annual fee. Students are challenged to come up with their own artistic interpretation and expression as it relates to an event or idea. Techniques and instruction are briefly covered on a want-to-know basis and students work individually on their own projects at their own pace. Concept development is considered a very important part of art education at our school and is helpful even to those who plan to pursue other fields of study in college.

Portfolio Development: Level 1
In PD1, you choose either Monday or Wednesday and you can come into the Studio to work between 2:00-7:00 pm for any or all of that time frame on your designated day.  This gives you up to 120 hours of Studio time in the 24 class weeks between September to May.  Studio Membership expects that the student is largely self-directed and comes with their own ideas and creative initiative. This is not step-by-step art instruction program. You pay a flat yearly rate of $1000 in September -which includes supplies- so those who come regularly for the maximum time allotted will get more value for their money than those who do not.

Portfolio Development Level 2
PD2 is for students who plan to apply and enter an Art or Design school in two years (essentially, a Junior in high school or a Senior if you plan a Gap Year). PLEASE NOTE: The PD2 Program is usually combined with enrollment in the Mentorship 2 (MS2) Program which focuses on the application, networking and essay part of applying to schools.

Porfolio Development Level 3
PD3 is for students who plan to apply to enter an Art or Design school in one year (essentially, a Senior in high school or Gap Student). PLEASE NOTE: The PD3 Program is usually combined with enrollment in the Mentorship 3 (MS3) Program which focuses on the application, networking and essay part of applying to schools.
